I'm sure people somewhere have done this before, but it was a new style for me to try – sort of a variant on the figure-ground ambigram: an outline-fill ambigram!

Couples are clearly the most popular subject matter for symbiotograms, and the traditional style is fair enough when both names are of similar lengths (or where the longer name is full of narrow letters like i and l, while the shorter name has wide letters like m and w), but pairing 5-letter ‘Julie’ with 8-letter ‘Alistair’ required something a bit more creative.

It's not perfect, but as an experiment I hope you think it works!

A bit difficult to read, but I like the idea.

Did you consider dotting the first I in Alistair as well? I think that might improve its readability without affecting that of Julie too much.

Also, did you try removing the outer black border of Alistair's second A? I think it's currently too heavy compared to the surrounding letters. Also, it should make the T easier to read.
