Suggester's words: Haeccity: a pixel font by ~dtw42 is one of the most amazing pixel fonts I've ever found. Not only does it look great, but it covers just about everything and the kitchen sink. With such a wide range of letters, symbols, and special characters, this is a true must-have in your bitmap font collection.

Haeccity: a pixel font

Description

Okay. Someone sits down to create their first font, what do they go for? Either a font based on their own handwriting, or a pixel font, right? These are the options that give us a quick and easy way in. Well, here's mine. I've gone down the pixel font route (who wants to see my cruddy handwriting anyway?).

Now it may not be the most elegant pixel font you've ever seen, but boy is it complete! There are all the basic Latin characters with standard punctuation, most extended Latin (accented), spacing and (common) combining diacritics, Greek and extended Greek, Cyrillic, a sort of a bash at Armenian, a sort of a bash at Glagolitic, Ogham, Runic, Gothic, mathematical and logic operators, most arrows, miscellaneous letter-like and currency symbols, box-drawing and OCR characters, astrological symbols, dingbats (I got fed up about three-quarters of the way through the stars, but most of them are there), common ligatures (ff, fi, fl, ffi, ffl, st), fractions, IPA symbols, openface and monospace characters. Also small caps for the basic Latin and Greek alphabets. 170 kerning pairs are included (spread between the Latin, Greek and Cyrillic alphabets). OpenType layout features allow access to the standard and discretionary ligatures, small caps, super- and subscripts, fractions, old-style numerals and italic swash capitals (via OpenType aware applications, of course). Phew!

Anyone who queries why non-western characters (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Ethiopic, Hebrew etc.) aren't included... is asking for a slap. :-D

Bold version (with most, but not all, of the characters from the regular) is included. Watch this space for the italic version, coming soon! Well, knowing me, probably NOT VERY soon, but hey...

The "Anyone who queries why non-western characters (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Ethiopic, Hebrew etc.) aren't included... is asking for a slap. :-D" part made me chuckle. What's funny is this was actually suggested because I was looking for Arabic fonts.
